Dearborn, Mich., October 10, 2009 – Lizabeth Ardisana, CEO of ASG Renaissance, was recently appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm, to a second term on The Council for Labor and Economic Growth. In her capacity as a member of the council, Ardisana is responsible for advising the Governor and the Department of Labor and Economic Growth on strategies to improve workforce development in the state.
“Michigan has a proud history of innovation, and because of the state’s current economic environment, it’s even more important to develop programs to get Michigan back to work and make it the center for innovation once again,” said Lizabeth Ardisana, CEO, ASG Renaissance. “There is still a lot of work ahead of us, and I’m grateful to be able to continue to help move the state forward.”
The Council for Labor and Economic Growth (CLEG) is an advisory body within the Department of Labor and Economic Growth established to recommend innovative strategies to assure the continued development of an integrated statewide workforce development system that will meet Michigan’s job needs today and in the future. Council members represent leaders from the business, labor, community colleges, universities, K-12 education, community-based organizations, local workforce boards, and government.
Ardisana was also the recipient of the PHD Award, presented by the Mercy Education Project. The award recognizes the Positive impact Ardisana has had on others, Hard work she has done to make her dreams a reality, and the Dedication she has shown in giving back to the community. The Mercy Education Project provides educational opportunities, life skills development and cultural enrichment for women and girls, who have limited access to resources, to enable them to improve the quality of their lives.
Ardisana co-founded ASG Renaissance in 1987 as an engineering consulting firm. Over the years, in response to changing client needs, Ardisana has expanded and diversified the company, which today brings together a distinctive mix of services including marketing communications, human capital, performance management and diversity services. An active leader in many civic organizations and the Michigan business community, Ardisana serves on numerous boards including Focus:Hope, Kettering University and Citizens Bank. She was also the first woman elected to chair the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a post she still holds today.
